The idea for this web site was conceived on a plane trip from Miami to New York in October 1999. The flight was bad and the food was worse. My brother and I did not have a name for our ideas yet, but we were discussing our thoughts. Our site would include the names of doctors, pharmacies, health plans and hospitals in an easy to understand format. We would create a useful niche from the minds of doctors, not from computer scientists. Suddenly the name was clear. We would spell our goals in a one word statement. USDocSearch was created very simply, by our family for the benefit of your family.

We would make the process of searching for a doctor and finding information about drugs, effortless for anyone from a disabled 65 year old grandfather to a twelve year old surfing the net. We would make it easy to understand, easy to read and a short trip between log on and the ultimate destination of finding a health care provider or finding the right medication. After a couple of false starts, we were on our way.

By the time the plane had landed, we envisioned our site as a link between the patient and formidable task of choosing a doctor. You as a consumer should be informed about the drugs your doctor is prescribing. We hope to ease the lines of communication between the patient and the drug company, by providing links to all the specific drug sites and their e mail addresses. We anticipated web traffic because we were not by necessity the most comprehensive site, but by far the clearest and the quickest way to obtain information.

We hope that USDocSearch.com becomes the "Mom and Pop corner grocery" store of medical websites. Just like the corner grocer is able to offer more personalized service, we are able to give you an in depth look at just one portion of this vast ocean of information. Our goal is not to offer a potpourri of data, but to facilitate and give you insight on the arduous and often daunting task of finding a doctor and a medication. We hope you will enter your doctor's office a more informed patient as a result of this site because undoubtedly knowledge is power.
